Teen Drugs and Alcohol Abuse
Aug 23 2007, 10:39 PM EDT
Summary: I chose to do this topic because everyday teens abuse a variety of drugs, both legal and illegal. The use of illegal drugs is increasing, especially among young teens. Teens use alcohol and other drugs for many reasons which includes curiosity, to reduce stress, to feel grown up or to "fit in".Such as marijuana;the average age of first marijuana use is fourteen. Drug use is associated with a variety of negative consequences, including increased risk of serious drug use later in life, school failure, and poor judgment. All of these things can put teens at risk for accidents, violence, unsafe sex,and suicide.Facts: "Using alcohol and tobacco at a young age increases the risk of using other drugs later. Some teens will experiment and stop, or continue to use occasionally, without significant problems. Others will develop a dependency, moving on to more dangerous drugs and causing significant harm to themselves and possibly others." Do you find this valuable?

The choice to go to rehab and take back the control of one’s life is one of the most important and meaningful decisions that an addict can make. A drug or alcohol abuser should be aware of how dangerous the addiction is and how important it is to seek treatment right away. Without outside professional help from a drug and alcohol rehab program, the abuser may spiral deeper into addiction. For more help check this site: http://www.alcoholrehabnow.com/ Do you find this valuable? |
